Community Wellbeing North Canterbury Trust

Services Include:

  • New Start – long‑term counselling for rangatahi (12–25) affected by alcohol/drug use

  • Mana Ake – mental health support in primary schools

  • Manu Ka Rere – brief talk‑therapy for youth (13–24)

  • Kaiapoi Foodbank: For Kaiapoi, Woodend, Pegasus, Waikuku, Kainga, Ohoka. Phone: 0800 88 34 88, Monday–Friday, 10am–2pm

  • Free Parenting Courses: Tuning Into Kids / Teens, Building Awesome Whānau, , Grandparents Raising Grandchildren, Mighty Willows (for neurodivergent children/youth). All courses are free, with some online options.

The Salvation Army provides practical support for individuals and families, including food parcels, advocacy, clothing, and furniture assistance.

Budgeting Services North Canterbury

Budgeting Services North Canterbury supports individuals, families, and whānau across Waimakariri and Hurunui. They can advocate on your behalf with WINZ, IRD, and creditors. They also offer free community education programmes on money management.

Sexual Wellbeing Aotearoa – Rangiora Clinic

Located inside Durham Health Centre, this clinic provides confidential sexual health services. Free for people under 22. They’re open every Thursday (appointments required). Services include contraception, emergency contraception, pregnancy testing, STI testing/treatment, cervical screening, and support for period concerns.
